Description

A rare, magnificent half hunter case pocket watch
Patek Philippe & Cie Genéve
in 18k gold execution
date of manufacture: 1870
caliber 12'''
with Patek Philippe extract from the archives
sold on May 17, 1871

This rare, valuable half hunting case pocket watch was manufactured by Patek Philippe manufacturer around 1870 on behalf of the English watchmaker Klaftenberger. Klaftenberger was an English watch and chronometer maker based at 157 Regent's Street, London. He was held in high esteem by Prince Albert and from 1845 Prince Albert and Queen Victoria placed regular watch orders to Klaftenberger, so that he was appointed as their court watchmaker. The half hunting case pocket watch is made of 18K yellow gold, the case has wonderfully enamelled tendrils with floral elements on both sides. Particularly noteworthy is the rare execution of the enamel dial. The finely matted, ivory-colored central part of the dial bears a central, delicate blue engraved Calatrava cross, while the outer segment with Roman numerals is in high-gloss white. On April 27, 1887, the Calatrava cross was officially registered as a Patek Philippe trademark. The 18K gold cuvette bears the following engravings: "Klaftenberger Watchmacker, To the Queen & H.R.H. Prince of Wales, Regent's Street 157, London." A high-quality, gold-plated Patek Philippe bridge movement caliber 12''' with lever escapement ticks inside the gold case. A Patek Philippe extract from the archives is supplied with this half hunting case pocket watch.

Genéve
in 18Kt Gold-Ausführung
Herstellungsjahr: 1870
Kaliber 12'''
mit Patek Philippe Stammbuchauszug
verkauft am 17. Mai 1871

Die 18Kt Goldcuvette trägt folgende Gravuren "Klaftenberger Watchmacker, To the Queen & H.R.H. Prince of Wales, Regent's Street 157, London." Im Inneren des Goldgehäuses tickt ein hochwertiges, vergoldetes Patek Philippe Brückenwerk Kaliber 12''' mit Ankerhemmung. Mit dieser Halbsavonnette wird ein Patek Philippe Stammbuchauszug geliefert.
