Description

Presenting this ultra-thin, hand-wound Piaget Altiplano in 18ct white gold; a diameter generous yet super fine timepiece at 40mm, for a distinguished presence on the wrist.

The dial is a radial brushed finished silver with engine turned small seconds dial between 10 and 11 o’clock, all finished with exacting, minimalist, hand-painted baton markers in black.

The case is formed with 18 carat white gold with sapphire glass case-back for an open view of the exquisite Piaget 838P ultra-thin hand-wound mechanical movement.

The movement itself measures only 2.5 mm thick and is a direct descendant of the legendary 9P movement. Laid out with 19 jewels and running at a frequency of 21000 vph (3Hz) the watch achieves approximately 61 hours of reserve power – that’s just over 2.5 days for a watch this thin!

The Altiplano range has won numerous design awards for a reason and has remained an extremely popular dress watch with universal appeal; if you’ll forgive the pun, it has a timeless design.

The watch is in mint condition, having received a full service from our workshop and offered at an extremely competitive price (Piaget have the watch priced new at £16,700.00).

Viewing is highly recommended and can be arranged by appointment in Central London (Farringdon).

Size guide for wristbands

1 | Lug width

The lug width is the width of the strap at the end that is attached to the watch. This is the interior distance between the two lugs (horn-like protrusions) on the watch casing. The strap will fit your watch only if the lug width of the watch is the same width as the strap.

2 | Buckle width

The buckle width is the width of the strap at the buckle end. If you want to keep your watch’s original buckle and replace only the strap, the width of the original buckle must be identical to the strap width. For watches with folding clasps, please choose a strap specially made for your particular clasp.

3 | Strap length

The strap length is the combined length of the short strap side 3A (without buckle) and the long strap side 3B. For metal straps, the length of the strap including the clasp is measured in the closed position.

4 | Strap thickness

Strap thickness is the height of the strap. Many leather straps thin out towards the buckle end, or “taper”. If you want to keep your watch’s original buckle and replace only the strap, the strap thickness must match the height of the original buckle. For watches with folding clasps, please choose a strap specially made for your particular clasp.
