The Hamilton Khaki Navy collection contains mechanical watches for divers and water sports enthusiasts. In addition to sporty designs, the Pioneer series pays homage to navy watches from the 1940s. Top models are water-resistant to 1,000 m (100 bar).
Watches for Life in and Around Water
The Khaki Navy collection is composed of five sub-collections: Frogman, Scuba, Pioneer, GMT, and BeLOWZERO. All are water-resistant to at least 100 m (10 bar, 328 ft), so you never have to worry about taking your watch off before jumping into a pool. The collection is also home to watches built for professional purposes. Some models boast a depth rating of 1,000 m (100 bar, 3,281 ft). This includes the solid black Khaki BeLOWZERO and the Frogman Titanium.
The Scuba is the largest and most colorful Khaki Navy series. These watches are available with a blue, green, or black dial and matching bezel inlay. You can also choose from a stainless steel bracelet, rubber strap, or NATO strap.
The Pioneer series was inspired by navy watches from the 1940s. They feature Arabic numerals, pocket watch-like cases, and three hands (except for the chronographs). Select models come with a small seconds at 6 o'clock. The case sizes range from 36 to 44 mm. For something more feminine, there are also rose gold-plated editions available. If your life includes both water sports and frequent travel, you should take a closer look at the Navy GMT.
Hamilton exclusively equips Khaki Navy models with Swiss ETA calibers. The manufacturer later modifies some movements in house. These then receive new names, such as the H-10, which is based on the ETA 2824-2. The manual ETA caliber 6498-2 powers the Pioneer Mechanical. This movement is perhaps better known as the "Unitas."

The stainless steel watches in the Khaki Navy Scuba series measure 40 mm in diameter. One example, the ref. H82335131, has a black dial and bezel. White luminous material fills the dial's applied hour indices. Like many military watches, Arabic numerals display the time using a 24-hour format.
The caliber H-10, a modified ETA 2824-2, powers this timepiece. This movement features a silicon balance spring, lending it improved shock and magnetic resistance. Its balance oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 alternations per hour (A/h) instead of the typical 28,800 A/h, resulting in an extended 80-hour power reserve. Finally, the H-10 comes with central hands for the hours, minutes, and seconds, as well as a date display at 4:30.
This particular reference is worn on a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp. You can purchase a never-worn watch on Chrono24 for around 600 USD. Pre-owned pieces change hands for roughly 490 USD.
If you'd prefer a rubber strap, you should check out the ref. H82335331. This version demands some 620 USD new. Prices for models with a green or blue dial are similar, depending on the band selection.

Tactical police or military divers are often referred to as "frogmen." Hamilton produces models for these elite units in the aptly named Frogman collection. Most of these three-hand watches are made of stainless steel and available in a number of color schemes. You can choose from a black or blue dial, as well as a red, blue, or black bezel. The 42-mm stainless steel editions are water-resistant to 300 m (30 bar, 984 ft). They come with your choice of a black or blue sunburst dial. The dials also feature applied line indices and an Arabic "12" numeral. These watches get their power from the caliber H-10.
Models with a black dial come with a black or red bezel, while those with a blue dial have a matching blue bezel. One of the Frogman's most interesting features is its crown security mechanism, which holds the crown firmly against the case, thus guaranteeing a reliable level of water resistance. Hamilton pairs the different versions with a stainless steel bracelet or rubber strap. The ref. H77705345 has a blue dial, blue bezel, and blue rubber strap. Both new and pre-owned watches sell for around 820 USD.
Those who dive to greater depths will find a reliable companion in the ref. H77805335. At 46 mm in diameter, this titanium watch makes its presence known on the wrist. A red bezel and black rubber strap further underscore this deep-sea diver's bold appearance. Like its smaller counterparts, the titanium Frogman is driven by the caliber H-10. If you'd like to call this watch your own, be sure to have about 1,100 USD on hand for a never-worn model. You can save roughly 220 USD by purchasing a pre-owned timepiece.

Hamilton turns to more classic watch designs in the Khaki Navy Pioneer series. The Pioneer Auto Chrono ref. H77706553 is a 44-mm stainless steel timepiece. Its silver dial with Arabic numerals, tempered blue hands, and pocket watch-style case hearken back to Hamilton's navy chronometers from the 1940s. A 60-minute scale runs around the dial's edge. The caliber H-21 ticks away inside the case and provides the watch with a 60-hour power reserve. There are central hands for the hours and minutes, as well as a 12-hour counter at 6 and 30-minute counter at 12 o'clock. This model comes on a brown leather strap and demands around 1,600 USD new on Chrono24. Hamilton lists the same watch for 1,895 USD.
The Pioneer Mechanical ref. H78719553 uses the manual ETA caliber 6498-2 with a small seconds at 6 o'clock. This stainless steel watch measures 46 mm in diameter and is limited to a run of 1,892 pieces. What makes this timepiece truly special is that it can convert between a wristwatch and a naval deck clock. You can find this model on Chrono24 for some 1,800 USD in mint condition and 1,600 USD pre-owned. The automatic versions are available with a 40 or 43-mm case and sell for as little as 870 USD.
Hamilton also offers the Khaki Navy Pioneer as a women's watch. The three-hand ref. H78215553 is 36 mm in diameter. It shares its silver dial and tempered blue hands with the larger Pioneer chronograph. The caliber H-10 powers this watch's hour, minute, and second hands. It also comes with a date display at 3 o'clock. Plan to spend around 760 USD on a never-worn model. You can also find this timepiece on Hamilton's website for a list price of 995 USD.

The Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO ref. H78585333 is an impressive timepiece. It boasts a sleek black design, large 46-mm case with a black PVD coating, and a depth rating of 1,000 m (100 bar, 3,281 ft). The final result is sportier and more eye-catching than the rest of the Khaki Navy family. Thanks to its high water resistance and helium escape valve, this watch is perfectly suited for saturation diving. Dark anthracite-colored Arabic numerals mark the hours on the black dial.
Interestingly, 12 o'clock is marked by a "0." The case design resembles a submarine's porthole, especially with its screwed-on crown. The automatic ETA caliber 2826-2 ticks away inside the case and has a 42-hour power reserve. Hamilton mounts the BeLOWZERO on a black rubber strap. Prices for this model range from 920 to 1,300 USD on Chrono24, depending on its condition.

The 42-mm Khaki Navy GMT is a great option for frequent travelers. It bears the reference number H77615133 and features a stainless steel case and bracelet. The Navy GMT's black dial is stamped with SuperLuminova Arabic numerals. The ETA caliber 2892-1 powers this watch and provides it with a 50-hour power reserve and central hour, minute, and second hands.
There's a date window at 3 o'clock, directly opposite the GMT display at 9. You can set the GMT time's city disc using the crown on the case's left-hand side. On the other hand, the two crowns on the right operate the internal diving bezel. With 200 m (20 bar, 656 ft) of water resistance, the Navy GMT can also go swimming and diving. You can purchase a mint-condition model for about 820 USD. Pre-owned versions are even less expensive at roughly 600 USD.
