Sporting a handsome thick black dial stamped with the British military arrow emblem, it has neat arabic numerals; hands with a luminous infill (the T in a circle on the dial denotes the use of luminous tritium on both the dial and hands); is of IWC famed calibre 89; has the ideal Breguet hairspring; has incabloc shock absorption to keep the movement safe;17 jewels and indirect centre seconds mechanism and measures at 36mm diameter.
This watch comes fully serviced and regulated, runs well and keeps excellent time. It really is an excellent find.
A little history:
The Hamilton Mark XI RAF 1960 was tested to chronometer standards by the Ministry of Defence and the watch dial was produced to British Air Ministry design. The 6B was used by the RAF to mark property out as ‘flying equipment’, a term used for a wide range of items intended for airborne use.
