A very sharp IWC Ref.866AD "Big Ingenieur" from 1974

This heavy 18ct gold watch from IWC impresses with its incredibly sharp case . A 50 year old gold case in this sharp unpolished condition is something that you very rarely see.

Th beautiful Caliber 8541B movement has hacking seconds and is fitted with a lovely champagne gold coloured dial which I think is a little more unusual than the silver dialed versions of this watch . There is a small age related mark on the dial next to the date window , it looks light discoloration in the original varnish.

The watch has an extract from the IWC ledger stating that it was sold in October 1974 in Benguela Angola .

The watch had a full service by IWC in 2007 and I think has probably not really been worn since then. It is fitted with a new JLC strap which I think compliments the watch , it has maintained its original 18ct gold IWC buckle.

The watch runs with am amplitude in excess of 300 and keeps great time.

This is a rare watch in the most wonderful condition
