Description
IWC Pilots Spitfire Double Chronograph "Red Line" Panda in Stainless Steel features a Split-Seconds "Rattrapante" Chronograph with Day and Date Display. It has a silvered dial with dark grey Chronograph sub-dials & dark grey/black minute/hour track rim on the outside diameter of the dial. The case back is encrusted with the intricate engraving of the famous Spitfire plane. The 44mm diameter solid two-body case, downturned lugs, and stepped bezel are brushed. There's a twelve-hour register at the six o'clock position, and day and elongated date windows are located at 3 o'clock. A small seconds sub-dial is at 9 o'clock and there is a 30-minute register at 12. There is a bright red center-second rattrapante hand with a counterweight that resembles the interior of a cockpit in a jet. It's fitted on a brown leather strap with a tongue buckle.

This IWC Pilots Spitfire Double Chronograph "Red Line" IW371806 has a mechanical automatic IWC caliber 79230 movement that's rhodium plated with fausses cotes embellishment. It's constructed with 29 jewels, a monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, and a straight-line lever escapement. There is a shock absorber mechanism and a, self-compensating flat balance spring, as well as a hacking seconds device. The mechanism oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz).

The IW3718-06 Spitfire Double Chronograph has an automatic movement with split seconds / rattrapante function. It superseded the 3718-02, which has a slightly different strap. Though not limited it is believed only approx. 500 pieces were produced.

- Day & Date windows located at the 3 o’clock position.
- Automatic Chronograph/stop-watch movement with a Split Seconds complication – a feature which allows for an additional timing function. The watch has a double stop-watch seconds hand, one on top of the other. By pressing the button at the 10 o’clock position while the chronograph is running, the seconds hand “splits” the top one stops while the bottom one continues to run – thus the term “split second”.
