Description
We are proud to present the impressive Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 18ct Cerachrom.
Born out of the early 1930’s sports watches worn by Sir Malcom Campbell, Rolex has long been associated with motor racing and speed. In 1963 Rolex removed the telemeter scale and moved the tachymeter onto the bezel for increased dial legibility and introduced the world to the term ‘Cosmograph’. But it was not until 1965 that the term ‘Daytona’ was used on the model, which came about as Rolex was the official timepiece of the racetrack.
The Cosmograph Daytona has, thanks to its legendary status as the ultimate racing tool watch often appeared in luxurious solid gold cases ever since the reference 6263 in 1969. The solid gold versions were produced in far more limited numbers than their steel counterparts and thus have become very collectable in the years since.
This version the reference 116519LN has been in production since 2017 and is set in a polished 40mm solid hallmarked 18ct white gold Oyster case with a fixed black ceramic units-per-hour bezel. The dial is a clean silver colour with a sunburst finish, applied Chromalight luminous hour markers and triple chronograph sub-dials in contrasting black colourways to the dial. Protected by a flat sapphire crystal glass and fitted with screw-down pushers and Triplock crown, the watch is powered by the Rolex in-house calibre 4130 automatic self-winding mechanism. It comes fitted on a black Rolex Oysterflex rubber strap with an 18ct white gold folding Oysterlock safety clasp with the Easylink extension system.
Originally purchased in February 2022 and is lovely condition. There is one tiny mark on one polished lug.
It comes with its original inner and outer boxes, instruction booklet, seal, leather card holder and international warranty card. This Daytona is under Rolex manufacturers warranty until 2027.
