This is a pre-owned Rolex Submariner Gilt Gloss Meters First 5 Ticks Dial 5513 watch. 40mm case size in stainless steel, black dial on a black leather bracelet, powered by an automatic movement. This Rolex is in good condition complete with xupes presentation pouch. Circa 1966. Our Xupes reference is COM1634 should you need to quote this.
"This stainless steel Rolex Submariner reference 5513 has a case in almost completely original condition. It has only seen a light polishing showing much of the natural material pitting and erosion from wear over the years, giving it a nurtured feel. The bezel has been replaced along with the insert which however shows nice signs of aging, suggesting these replacements were some time ago.
Meters first with rounded crown guard making this a late model, the late 1960s. Caseback signed 5513 II 65 and case signed 5513 between lugs. The watch contains a calibre 1530.
The gilt gloss dial is correct, although it appears to have had the lume replaced and shows some natural signs of ageing. The hands appear original. The meters first gilt dial shows the SWISS - T25 sitting above five hash marks on the minute ring at the bottom, showing the dial is original and gives its "5 Ticks" nickname.
The watch comes on a black leather strap and steel Rolex pin buckle."
