The Tudor Style: a Companion for Every Occasion
The manufacturer Tudor runs in the most famous and prestigious circles of the watch world. The father of Rolex, Hans Wilsdorf, founded the brand with the intention of selling affordable watches with Rolex designs. The company relied on Rolex Oyster cases for many years. Those were combined with alternative and more reasonably priced movements from ETA in hopes of expanding their customer base and reaching their ultimate goal. The similarities are easily recognized in models such as the Tudor Prince Oysterdate and the Tudor Submariner.
Newer collections are moving further and further away from their Rolex predecessors and feature unique, innovative designs. The Tudor Style line is diverse and includes three-hand watches in four different sizes: 28 mm, 34 mm, 38 mm, and 41 mm. Both men and women have equal variety to choose from; this is made possible by the watches' timeless appearance and universal appeal. The 28-mm model is powered by the automatic caliber 2671 while the larger models use the caliber 2824.
The dials on Style watches are often lacquered to give them an outstanding depth of color; however, dials with radial polishing are also available. The stainless steel case is water resistant to 100 m (10 bar) and is combined with a bezel made of either stainless steel or yellow gold. You will also find bicolor bracelets in addition to bands made entirely of stainless steel or black leather. Each watch has a date display at 3 o'clock.
How much do Tudor Style models cost?
The double bezel is an important feature of the Style collection. This Tudor line is separated into two categories: models with smooth bezels are paired with dauphine hands while newer models often combine fluted bezels with baton hands. Prices for models with smooth bezels begin around 1,500 euros, which is in line with the goal of selling relatively affordable luxury watches with a distinguished heritage. For this price, you can purchase a new Tudor Style under reference number M12100-0005 with a 28-mm stainless steel case and a black leather band. The elegant dauphine hands enhance this model's classically elegant appearance and indicate the time on the silver-colored dial. If you like this version, but prefer a larger watch, this timepiece is also available in a 38-mm size under reference number M12500-0005 and costs approximately 1,650 euros.
Plan to spend around 1,800 euros for a Tudor Style with the reference number M12700-0002. It is entirely made out of stainless steel and is 41 mm in diameter. Its five-piece link bracelet features both polished and satin-brushed elements, giving it an especially elegant feel. This model has a black dial that contrasts nicely with the stainless steel. Be sure to set aside around 2,600 euros for the 41-mm stainless steel and gold bicolor version of the Tudor Style . Diamonds function as hour markers at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock against the champagne-colored dial of this bicolor watch with the reference number M12703-0004. Eye-catching, golden elements also refine the stainless steel bracelet and the smooth golden bezel.
Unique Tudor Style with a Fluted Bezel
For 1,650 euros, you can purchase a 28-mm stainless steel Tudor Style under reference number M12110-0001 with a fluted bezel and silver-colored dial. If you prefer to have a bicolor version of the same size, take a look at the Tudor Style with the reference number M12113-0019. This model combines a yellow gold bezel with a champagne-colored dial and black leather band. A new version also costs around 1,650 euros. The Tudor Style with the reference number M12113-0017 is another bicolor model with the same size for approximately 2,500 euros. Its stainless steel case is combined with a mother-of-pearl dial, which is then further refined with diamonds and golden indices. The bezel and elements on the bracelet are also done in gold. If you're not looking for a mother-of-pearl dial and would like a larger watch, the reference number M12513-0009 is essentially the same watch but with a 38-mm diameter and a silver-colored dial. You can purchase this model for around 2,600 euros.
The Tudor Style and Its Many Colors
In addition to diamonds and dials in silver, black, or champagne, the Tudor Style line also features dials in dark blue and Bordeaux red. At 41 mm, the Tudor watch with the reference number M12710-0013 fits well on a larger wrist. You can find a new model for about 1,800 euros. The version with a blue dial and fluted bezel has a modern flair. Reference number M12510-0013 is the same watch but in 38 mm and sits at a similar price point. The 38-mm Bordeaux red model with the reference number M12510-0015 is also comparably priced.
