Description |
Here is a great looking Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 Pre Moon, from 1971. One of the most recognisable, popular and beautiful chronographs ever made. Considering our name, it’s no surprise that the Speedy is one of our favourites.
The design of the dial is timeless, it is steeped in history (the Moonwatch), and it just works on so many levels. We like a watch that shows its age, that hasn’t been overly refurbished or repolished. This particular Speedmaster shows its age but remains in great shape - “69” case, the bezel and the case back. It’s not perfect but how many 51-year-olds are?! The original (A4) “Single Bevel” case back is showing light wear and the Hippocampus and wording around it are visible. The original black (C1) dial with the correctly spaced “T’s” around “Swiss”, has the triple register layout, unchanged over decades with its stepped contours, is in great condition, However, the lume to the face and the hands has lost its luminosity. The bezel looks to have been replaced with a B7 (2004) style, the wide "Happy feet” crown (A3) and “Wide & Tall” Type 4 pushers are in fine fettle and look original. It is presented on an original 1171 bracelet, with what looks like new-ish, but correct 633 end links. The movement with serial number 31323915 has been fully serviced and checked over by our watchmaker, so timekeeping is excellent and the chronograph works properly too. We always say that for any collector, there must be a place in their collection for a Speedmaster of any age. If you don’t already have one, this would be a very good starting point. |

Do you have any questions?
Certified watches can be identified by the green "C" icon in the search results and in the listing. You can also filter search results to only view Certified watches. On the listing page, you can see whether Certified is already included or whether it's an optional add-on to your purchase. See also: What's the difference between Certified Included and Certified Optional?
2. Certification by verified watchmakers
Before you receive your watch, it will be checked and certified by a verified watchmaker. Among other things, the watchmaker checks whether your watch matches the listing information and whether it complies with our definition of authenticity.
3. Receive your watch and digital certificate of authenticity
After successful certification, you can rest assured your new watch is genuine. This is confirmed by a certificate of authenticity, which you can access digitally after receiving your watch.
If you purchase from a private seller, we will hold the purchase amount in our escrow account for 7 days after you receive your watch. Please note, however, that private sellers are not legally mandated to accept returns.
Certified is our new certification service whereby verified watchmakers check and certify the authenticity of watches to provide customers on our marketplace with a worry-free buying experience. After successful certification, you'll receive a digital certificate of authenticity that confirms the watch meets our definition of authenticity and matches the information in the listing. Certified watches come with a three-year authenticity guarantee. See also: How is the watch checked?
If you've selected a watch with Certified as an optional add-on, you can book certification for an additional charge of £249. In this case, the watch will be checked by one of our in-house watchmakers before being shipped to you. See also: What's included in Certified Optional?
If you book certification for a watch that is not already certified, you pay the purchase price of the watch plus an additional £249 for certification. We will only issue an invoice for the certification if you expressly request one.
The check includes the following:
Authenticity check: We check both the exterior and interior of the watch against our definition of authenticity. See also: How do we define authenticity?
Condition check: We check whether the condition of the watch matches the information in the listing, including the complications, winding mechanism, chronograph function, and more. See also: How do we define authenticity?
Scope of delivery check: All additional items, e.g., original box and papers, are checked for completeness and accordance with the model reference.
Stolen watch check: We check whether the watch's serial number is listed in the leading stolen watches databases. This ensures that there are no thefts reported for the serial number.
Private sellers are not legally mandated to accept returns.
