Patek Philippe Celestial 6102R-001 Astronomical Grand Complication. Rose gold 44mm case. Automatic movement caliber 240 LU CL C. Water resistant to 30 meters. Black dial showcasing the canopy over the northern hemisphere, emulating the apparent movement of the stars as well as the positions and phases of the moon in a course of a lunar cycle. The astronomical indications are complemented by a central date hand that points at the date scale on the outer part of the dial.
This watches unique mechanism has achieved a nearly incredible degree of precision in the astronomical depiction of the stars over the northern hemisphere. To orchestrate its astronomical indications the Celestial drew inspiration from the mechanism developed for the Sky Moon Tourbillon. The resulting system comprises of three superimposed crystal disks, one each for the sky, the stars and the moon. Power Reserve of approximately 48 hours.
