Description |
We are proud to present this collectible Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watch for sale in mint condition, fully checked and authenticated in our accredited workshop.
Introduced in 1963, the Cosmograph Daytona was designed to meet the demands of professional racing drivers and differed from the older Rolex chronographs by having the tachymeter scale engraved on the bezel for greater dial legibility. It allowed drivers using the chronograph to measure the average speed over a given distance based on elapsed time and has since become an icon and has adorned the wrists of many famous people since, including the man who has become synonymous with the Daytona, Paul Newman. This version of the Daytona, reference 116523 comes set in a polished 40mm stainless steel Oyster case with engraved 18ct yellow gold units per hour bezel. The white racing dial features oversized luminous Arab numeral indexes, matching sword hands with black inlays and contrasting black subdials accented in red at 3/6/9 for recording up to 12 hours. The 18ct yellow gold screwdown pushers and crown allow for a water resistance of 10atm (100m/330ft) and the watch is fitted with a flat sapphire crystal glass. Lastly, the watch is powered by the automatic calibre 4130 chronograph movement and comes fitted on a Rolesor (stainless steel / 18ct yellow gold) Oyster link bracelet and secured by a folding Oysterlock clasp. Originally purchased in October 2012 and in mint condition for its age, coming supplied with its original inner and outer boxes, swing tag, Rolex seal, guarantee manual, instruction manual, leather warranty holder and international warranty card. This Daytona benefits from the coverage of our 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. The Daytona is very desirable and collectible, whichever variation you choose. This is your chance to get your hands on a model no longer produced. Please contact us for shipping costs to the E.U. All images are of the actual watch for sale. We do not use library pictures. |

Do you have any questions?
Certified watches can be identified by the green "C" icon in the search results and in the listing. You can also filter search results to only view Certified watches. On the listing page, you can see whether Certified is already included or whether it's an optional add-on to your purchase. See also: What's the difference between Certified Included and Certified Optional?
2. Certification by verified watchmakers
Before you receive your watch, it will be checked and certified by a verified watchmaker. Among other things, the watchmaker checks whether your watch matches the listing information and whether it complies with our definition of authenticity.
3. Receive your watch and digital certificate of authenticity
After successful certification, you can rest assured your new watch is genuine. This is confirmed by a certificate of authenticity, which you can access digitally after receiving your watch.
If you purchase from a private seller, we will hold the purchase amount in our escrow account for 7 days after you receive your watch. Please note, however, that private sellers are not legally mandated to accept returns.
Certified is our new certification service whereby verified watchmakers check and certify the authenticity of watches to provide customers on our marketplace with a worry-free buying experience. After successful certification, you'll receive a digital certificate of authenticity that confirms the watch meets our definition of authenticity and matches the information in the listing. Certified watches come with a three-year authenticity guarantee. See also: How is the watch checked?
If you've selected a watch with Certified as an optional add-on, you can book certification for an additional charge of £249. In this case, the watch will be checked by one of our in-house watchmakers before being shipped to you. See also: What's included in Certified Optional?
If you book certification for a watch that is not already certified, you pay the purchase price of the watch plus an additional £249 for certification. We will only issue an invoice for the certification if you expressly request one.
The check includes the following:
Authenticity check: We check both the exterior and interior of the watch against our definition of authenticity. See also: How do we define authenticity?
Condition check: We check whether the condition of the watch matches the information in the listing, including the complications, winding mechanism, chronograph function, and more. See also: How do we define authenticity?
Scope of delivery check: All additional items, e.g., original box and papers, are checked for completeness and accordance with the model reference.
Stolen watch check: We check whether the watch's serial number is listed in the leading stolen watches databases. This ensures that there are no thefts reported for the serial number.
Private sellers are not legally mandated to accept returns.
