Description |
Breitling's iconic Navitimer might just be the most recognisable pilots watch on the market. Its name, a portmanteau of 'navigation' and 'timer', points squarely to its intended use as a pilot's tool. First released to the public in 1954, it was produced with a plethora of dial variations. While many had the 'Navitimer' text, some were signed with 'Geneve' or 'Cosmonaute' writing.
The most recognisable feature, however, is the slide rule bezel that allowed pilots to make on-the-go calculations using their watches. While it's since been superseded by electronic computers, its presence on Breitling's watches still provide a reminder of just how challenging of a field aviation was. This reference is equipped with Breitling's new B01 chronograph movement, a calibre that's designed and manufactured in-house by the brand. It boasts an impressive power reserve of 70 hours and operates with a column wheel system, giving it smooth operation without any jumpiness. |

2. Certification by verified watchmakers
Before you receive your watch, it will be checked and certified by a verified watchmaker. Among other things, the watchmaker checks whether your watch matches the listing information and whether it complies with our definition of authenticity.
3. Receive your watch and digital certificate of authenticity
After successful certification, you can rest assured your new watch is genuine. This is confirmed by a certificate of authenticity, which you can access digitally after receiving your watch.
If you purchase from a private seller, we will hold the purchase amount in our escrow account for 7 days after you receive your watch. Please note, however, that private sellers are not legally mandated to accept returns.
Certified is our new certification service whereby verified watchmakers check and certify the authenticity of watches to provide customers on our marketplace with a worry-free buying experience. After successful certification, you'll receive a digital certificate of authenticity that confirms the watch meets our definition of authenticity and matches the information in the listing. Certified watches come with a three-year authenticity guarantee. See also: How is the watch checked?
If you've selected a watch with Certified as an optional add-on, you can book certification for an additional charge of £249. In this case, the watch will be checked by one of our in-house watchmakers before being shipped to you. See also: What's included in Certified Optional?
If you book certification for a watch that is not already certified, you pay the purchase price of the watch plus an additional £249 for certification. We will only issue an invoice for the certification if you expressly request one.
The check includes the following:
Authenticity check: We check both the exterior and interior of the watch against our definition of authenticity. See also: How do we define authenticity?
Condition check: We check whether the condition of the watch matches the information in the listing, including the complications, winding mechanism, chronograph function, and more. See also: How do we define authenticity?

Stolen watch check: We check whether the watch's serial number is listed in the leading stolen watches databases. This ensures that there are no thefts reported for the serial number.
Private sellers are not legally mandated to accept returns.
