In the 1930's through the 70's, in the midst of their high output of utilitarian sports watches, Rolex also made much more elegant dress watches. These fine wristwatches often combine a superior hand-wound mechanism with beautiful aesthetics.

The elegant and timeless dress Rolex showcased in today's offering is a beautiful example of this phenomenon. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice.

It features very fine styling and a well-executed handwound movement. Its TV shape gives it a distinctively vintage look. And its gold case, dial, markers, and hands, give it a very luxurious monochrome gold style.

Powering the watch is its high-grade original caliber 1225 handwound movement with sweep seconds.

We were fortunate to acquire it with all of its original parts in beautiful condition.

Its case is scratch-free. Despite what the photos seem to suggest the light stamped markings on the back are still fully present, just light.

Its fabulous untouched original dial presents as gorgeous mint, even under magnification.

Its fine, handwound Rolex movement, which is pristine, has just been freshly serviced. Photos of the inside available upon request.

It is running extremely strong and true, keeping time on par with a new Rolex in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new leather strap and aftermarket Rolex buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
