Description

The Rolex Submariner 5513 was the longest produced Rolex reference for a very good reason, it is "The Dive Watch" of all dive watches. This Submariner carries that highly sought-after reference and dates back to 1966 when England won the world cup!

The classic, "pointed crown guard" stainless steel case weighs in at 40mm and houses the stalwart Calibre 1530. This is not chronometer-certified, and so has a dial with two lines of text (as opposed to the 4-line chronometer dials).

Underneath the replacement plexiglass crystal is a late series 5513 glossy black "feet-first" Service dial with white gold surrounds that encapsulate each of the tritium hour markers, all complemented by a contemporary hand set.

The watch is in overall good condition with only minor stretch on the ‘78360’ Oyster bracelet dating from 1987.

The 1530 movement has been recently serviced and is running perfectly.

The bezel is in good condition but has lost its 12 o’clock ‘pip’. The vintage condition case's thick lugs still show original chamfers and the serial and reference numbers are fully intact and are clearly visible between the lugs.

Needless to say, this is a very good example of a famous Rolex reference.

Do you have any questions?

Certified is our new certification service whereby verified watchmakers check and certify the authenticity of watches to provide customers on our marketplace with a worry-free buying experience.
1. Look for listings with the Certified icon
Certified watches can be identified by the green "C" icon in the search results and in the listing. You can also filter search results to only view Certified watches. On the listing page, you can see whether Certified is already included or whether it's an optional add-on to your purchase. See also: What's the difference between Certified Included and Certified Optional?
2. Certification by verified watchmakers
Before you receive your watch, it will be checked and certified by a verified watchmaker. Among other things, the watchmaker checks whether your watch matches the listing information and whether it complies with our definition of authenticity.
3. Receive your watch and digital certificate of authenticity
After successful certification, you can rest assured your new watch is genuine. This is confirmed by a certificate of authenticity, which you can access digitally after receiving your watch.
Chrono24 Buyer Protection offers complete security for your payment. If you purchase from a professional dealer, we will hold the purchase amount in our escrow account for 14 days after you receive your watch. This means your money is safe until you're sure you're satisfied with your purchase. Only then will we transfer payout to the dealer. If you aren't satisfied with your purchase, you can exercise your statutory right to withdraw and return the watch to the dealer within 14 days for any reason.
If you purchase from a private seller, we will hold the purchase amount in our escrow account for 7 days after you receive your watch. Please note, however, that private sellers are not legally mandated to accept returns.
Certified is our new certification service whereby verified watchmakers check and certify the authenticity of watches to provide customers on our marketplace with a worry-free buying experience. After successful certification, you'll receive a digital certificate of authenticity that confirms the watch meets our definition of authenticity and matches the information in the listing. Certified watches come with a three-year authenticity guarantee. See also: How is the watch checked?
Certification is free if it's included in the price of your watch. In this case, the watch has already been checked by a verified watchmaker working in cooperation with the dealer. See also: What's the difference between Certified Included and Certified Optional?
If you've selected a watch with Certified as an optional add-on, you can book certification for an additional charge of £249. In this case, the watch will be checked by one of our in-house watchmakers before being shipped to you. See also: What's included in Certified Optional?
If certification is already included, you'll receive your certified watch at no additional cost. You pay the purchase price of the watch as usual via our escrow service.
If you book certification for a watch that is not already certified, you pay the purchase price of the watch plus an additional £249 for certification. We will only issue an invoice for the certification if you expressly request one.
If certification is available for a watch, you'll see the green Certified icon in the search results and in the listing. As we are continually adding new watches to our Certified program, it's worth checking your favorite watches for the Certified icon from time to time.
All Certified watches are comprehensively checked against specific criteria by a verified watchmaker. This is how we guarantee the authenticity of your watch.
The check includes the following:
Authenticity check: We check both the exterior and interior of the watch against our definition of authenticity. See also: How do we define authenticity?
Condition check: We check whether the condition of the watch matches the information in the listing, including the complications, winding mechanism, chronograph function, and more. See also: How do we define authenticity?
Scope of delivery check: All additional items, e.g., original box and papers, are checked for completeness and accordance with the model reference.
Stolen watch check: We check whether the watch's serial number is listed in the leading stolen watches databases. This ensures that there are no thefts reported for the serial number.
Every watchmaker who certifies watches under the Certified program has to meet certain criteria. In this way, we ensure he or she has suitable qualifications and technical equipment. Through individualized audits, we also ensure that watches are tested exclusively by experts and in accordance with our standards. If we discover any discrepancies, we hold the watchmakers accountable. See also: What's the difference between Certified Included and Certified Optional?
The certificate of authenticity is a digital document that cannot be lost, stolen, or damaged. Once you've received the watch, you can find the corresponding certificate in your Chrono24 account. After logging in, you can access it under the "Buy" menu or directly via your Watch Collection.
Returns under the Certified program are subject to our general returns policy. If you buy from a professional dealer, you can exercise your statutory right to withdrawal within 14 days of receiving the watch and get your money back quickly and hassle-free.
Private sellers are not legally mandated to accept returns.
