Description |
We are proud to present this stunning vintage Rolex Air-King Date for sale in mint condition, fully checked and authenticated in our accredited workshop.
Conceived by Hans Wilsdorf to pay tribute to World War II pilots, the Rolex Air-King boasts a remarkable production history spanning over seven decades. Pilots and fervent Rolex admirers alike have embraced the Air-King, with esteemed companies such as Pan-Am selecting these timepieces as retirement gifts for their pilots. The enduring legacy of the Air-King is a testament to its timeless design and the admiration it commands within aviation circles and beyond. This version of the famed Air-King, reference 5700, was first released in 1958 following the success of the non-date Air-King reference 5500 which was released the year before. Coming set in a 34mm stainless steel Oyster case with smooth polished bezel and fitted with a screwdown crown, ensuring the 10atm (100m/330ft) water resistance. The silver linen finished dial features a contrasting black minute track, applied baton indicators and matching hands, all protected by an acrylic plexi crystal. Driven by the automatic calibre 1535 and further safeguarded by solid screwdown caseback. Lastly, this Air-King Date is completed by a tapered stainless steel Oyster bracelet with folding Oyster clasp. Originally purchased in October 1974 and in mint condition for its age, supplied with its original inner box, `Your Rolex` booklet, translation booklet and blank international warranty certificate. Following a recent service this Air-King Date is sold with a 24-month service warranty. Please contact us for shipping costs to the E.U. All images are of the actual watch for sale. Before you receive your watch, it will be checked and certified by a verified watchmaker. Among other things, the watchmaker checks whether your watch matches the listing information and whether it complies with our definition of authenticity.
3. Receive your watch and digital certificate of authenticity
After successful certification, you can rest assured your new watch is genuine. This is confirmed by a certificate of authenticity, which you can access digitally after receiving your watch.

If you book certification for a watch that is not already certified, you pay the purchase price of the watch plus an additional £249 for certification. We will only issue an invoice for the certification if you expressly request one.
The check includes the following:
Authenticity check: We check both the exterior and interior of the watch against our definition of authenticity. See also: How do we define authenticity?
Condition check: We check whether the condition of the watch matches the information in the listing, including the complications, winding mechanism, chronograph function, and more. See also: How do we define authenticity?

Stolen watch check: We check whether the watch's serial number is listed in the leading stolen watches databases. This ensures that there are no thefts reported for the serial number.
Private sellers are not legally mandated to accept returns.
